Tanzania Peaberry Coffee (5lb Bag)

Tanzania Peaberry Coffee (5lb Bag)
5 lbGrind Qty: $44.95
Tanzania Peaberry coffee is lively, savory, and one of Tanzania's most distinguished coffees. With a full-body taste, a prominent aroma, and similarities to Kenyan coffee, this bean from Tanzania may be small, but it packs a lot of punch. The special peaberry beans are notoriously known for being small fused beans roundly shaped with a cleft in the middle. The Tanzania Peaberry coffee beans roast easily, absorbing all the flavors for optimal flavor quality.

These Tanzanian coffee beans are harvested on world famous Mount Kilimanjaro, close to the Kenyan border. While Kenyan coffee has a tangier zest to it, these Tanzania Peaberry coffee beans have a mildly lighter acidity. Considering that Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest free standing mountain the world, these peaberry coffee beans are grown in lower elevations in some of the most agricultural-friendly parts of Africa.

Only 10% of coffee beans are peaberry beans. This Tanzania Peaberry coffee is special because while these beans are rare, the cost isn't extraordinary. These wet-processed beans flourish in a precise climate ideal for growing such peaberry coffee beans, and since they grow so well here, the quality is sophisticated in every bean.

If you are looking for a light zest and a full-bodied flavor in every cup, this African coffee will show you why the Tanzania Peaberry coffee beans are a distinctive treat.

I am a pot-of-coffee person who also wants good, interesting coffee. This Tanzania Peaberry is exactly right for me. It is a city roast which preserves the qualities of the coffee while providing good richness. I don't know all the technical words to use, but I can say that it smells good when ground and brewed, tastes great in the cup, and leaves me awake and content.

Tanzania Peaberry
December 29, 2020
This is my favorite coffee ever and I am a was a coffee shop owner and have traveled the world reviewing coffee to purchase.
Pros
  • This is a unique coffee and most likely the smallest coffee berry (Bean most like to call them) it is actually a cherry like fruit. Coffee trees produce berries. called coffee cherries that turn bright red when they are ripe and ready to pick.
  • Africa is the birthplace of coffee and was brought to Tanzania from Ethiopia in the 16th century.
  • Tanzania Peaberry are grown on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. at the elevation of 4500 to 6000 feet.
  • Hot or Cold it is a great coffee .....
Cons
  • Can't ever keep it around my house because everyone wants a bag to take home with them ...

Error made in filling my order.
March 17, 2020
I ordered ground beans and received whole beans instead. Fortunately, I have a very good coffee grinder so rather than go through the hassle of returning the whole beans, I will be grinding them as needed. In the long run, the freshly ground beans will probably make a better cup of coffee over time.

As to the quality of the Tanzania Peabody beans, I am very pleased with them. Since returning home from a trip to Tanzania several years ago, I have tried unsuccessfully to order NgoroNgoro coffee beans from the plantation I had visited near Arusha. The beans I received from you have remarkably the same qualities of the coffee that I enjoyed in Africa.

I first encountered Tanzanian peaberry in Lucy's coffee shop in Birmingham AL. After moving to New Mexico, I searched and found it at the best price on your website. It is as good as I had before - just the right roast for our morning brew. If we are out, my wife bugs me until I reorder it

Decided to give this one a try; Yirgacheffe is my preference but this is a close second. Its got a great flavor, not too strong. Very smooth and just wait until you grind the beans...smells fantastic. I use a french press maker. Give this one a try, you won't be disappointed.

Best Coffee on the Planet
July 26, 2016
I have been a coffee connoisseur for me entire adult life. There is no coffee that compares to peaberry coffee. It it smooth, non-acidic and yet robust in flavor. Of course I use filtered water and grind the beans each time I make a pot. If you try it, you will never change again.
Pros
  • Smooth coffee. Robust flavor. Low acidity.
Cons
  • Takes time to grind but it is well worth the time.
